Dr. Heejin Jeong is an Assistant Professor with the Polytechnic School, the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering, Arizona State University, Mesa, AZ, USA, and is also affiliated with the John Shufeldt School of Medicine and Medical Engineering. He received his Ph.D. degree in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, USA, in 2018. His research interests include extended reality systems for occupational safety enhancement and healthcare rehabilitation training, as well as human–robot collaboration in Industry 5.0 manufacturing systems. Dr. Jeong has received numerous prestigious awards, including the 2023 Applied Ergonomics Conference/Texas A&M Ergo Center Young Investigator Award, the 2024 ASU Faculty Women’s Association Outstanding Faculty Mentor – Early Career Award, the 2025 ASU Featured MORE Faculty – Outstanding Mentor Award, the NSF CAREER Award, and the 2025 HFES William C. Howell Young Investigator Award. He is also the co-editor of the book “Human-Centered Metaverse: Concepts, Methods, and Applications.”
