His primary research focuses on supporting human decision-making in interactions with autonomous and intelligent systems. He employs various engineering methodologies, including experimental studies, human performance modeling, and data analytics, to address societal challenges in human-systems engineering across domains such as robotics, healthcare, and emerging technologies (e.g., extended reality, artificial intelligence). His research emphasizes extended reality systems for enhancing occupational safety and healthcare rehabilitation training, as well as human-robot collaboration in Industry 5.0 manufacturing systems. He earned his Ph.D. in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan. Dr. Jeong has received numerous prestigious awards, including the 2023 Applied Ergonomics Conference/Texas A&M Ergo Center Young Investigator Award, the 2024 ASU Faculty Women’s Association Outstanding Faculty Mentor – Early Career Award, the 2025 ASU Featured MORE Faculty – Outstanding Mentor Award, the NSF CAREER Award, and the 2025 HFES William C. Howell Young Investigator Award. He is also the co-editor of the book Human-Centered Metaverse: Concepts, Methods, and Applications.
